Watershed recorded with the Württembergisches Kammerorchester Heilbronn.
In June, Pascal Schumacher returned to Watershed, the vibraphone concerto written for him by American composer Judd Greenstein, for two performances with the Württembergisches Kammerorchester Heilbronn under the direction of Risto Joost.
Following the concerts in Heilbronn and Ulm, the work was recorded with the orchestra for Schumacher’s forthcoming album GLASS THREE, due for release on Neue Meister in 2027.
Watershed explores the vibraphone as a fluid, resonant presence within the string orchestra — moving between pulse, transparency and moments of almost suspended stillness. The recording marks another important step in Schumacher’s ongoing exploration of the space between contemporary classical music, minimalism and his own musical language.
