Carte blanche with United Instruments of Lucilin

Pascal Schumacher has been invited by United Instruments of Lucilin to curate a very special concert evening — a carte blanche offered to him as a gift, and an opportunity to imagine a programme in which he will not appear on stage as a performer, but through his music.
The evening brings together composition, literature, spoken word and ensemble music. At its centre is the world premiere of a new work by Pascal Schumacher, based on Motion Picture Business, a short story by the Luxembourgish writer Florence Sunnen. Moving between dreams, inner cinema and waking reality, the text opens a poetic space in which music and language meet.
Actress Sarah Lamesch will perform Florence Sunnen’s texts Hair and Motion Picture Business, bringing her voice, presence and intensity to the literary dimension of the evening.
The programme will also feature the Luxembourg premiere of Dust by the great American composer Marc Mellits, whose music is known for its pulse, energy and direct physical impact.
This carte blanche is both a personal and artistic moment for Pascal Schumacher: a concert in which his musical world is carried by others — by the musicians of Lucilin, by Sarah Lamesch’s spoken performance, and by the dialogue between text, sound and imagination.
